Biodiversity Ontology

Description: OntoBio is a biodiversity ontology developed by INPA and being jointly expanded by us at ICMC-USP. Its main objective is to provide a clear and precise conceptualization of the information describing specimens' collections. OntoBio was modeled using OntoUML, as its formal language for ontology conceptual modeling, allowing it to capture complex aspects of the biodiversity domain. OntoBio was only possible due to the help of the highly capable experts available at INPA willing to contribute to the project.

Institution: University of São Paulo (USP), National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA)
